Hi, my name is David Stevenson. Welcome to my site. Thirty five years ago I started my photography business out of a small rented apartment in the city of Salem, 20 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. I still operate my own photography business creating photographic images that delight collectors worldwide. We have a passionate group of collectors and I am glad you are here!
I appreciate your support and being a part of our life. I love to post on my blog those things that are closest to my heart and what I am most interested in: Family & Friends, Faith, Photography, Movies, Travel, and all things creative. I write a blog to inspire and encourage you in these shared interests and look to post every two weeks and hope to provide insight into these topics. Please use the button below to email me directly. Thanks!
My fascination and ultimate love for photography began at the tender age of ten, when my father gave me his Argus 35mm camera. The moment that I looked thru the lens, a new world opened up to me, and I was hooked. I was consumed for the next 8 years taking photos of people and places I loved in my hometown on the North Shore of Boston, Massachusetts.
At the age of 18 I went to engineering school because I excelled in math and science.
I had one semester of college left and a good paying job already lined up after graduation. The career was going great but something inside was missing. My heart’s desire was to pursue the art of photography, so I decided it was time to leave my promising career in engineering and dedicate my path to creating imagery full time. My love of photography had easily overtaken my engineering pursuit.
Around this time I met and married Lana, who was perfectly matched to me in mind and spirit. She encouraged me to use my talent and love for photography to share with the world. She became and still is my best friend, love and partner … in business and life.
To make a long story short, I opened up David Stevenson Photography in 1982 and have never looked back. My dream to open a studio had come true! Was all of this easy? Of course not! It took about 10 years to build up a great clientele base. I am grateful to all of these wonderful people from around the country who have loved and appreciated my life’s work.
My 40 year career has been exciting, and has included working for both the public and private sector, producing national work in portrait, fine art photography and commercial advertising campaigns. I continue to work in the Boston, MA., Naples Fl., and East Texas areas primarily, but also enjoy travels to other locations.
There is always a camera in the trunk of my car, giving me the opportunity to capture the awesome beauty and wonder that surrounds us … in both people and places. I believe that fine art photography can touch the soul and force us to think deeper. May you enjoy what the Creator has created through me.
Dreams do come true! Here’s to your dreams coming true!
